Data Engineer

​TalentScout is an exciting startup that is looking to change the way recruitment is done.  We’re based in BGC and we’ve partnered up with headhuntr.io, a Candidate Intelligence start-up company based in San Francisco, California. Together, we are revolutionizing the recruiting process by leveraging data-science technology and our Candidate Intelligence database to find better candidates, faster.
 
We are looking for a Data Engineer who is passionate about data to help us gather, cleanse and transform unstructured data into rich and insightful recruiting intelligence. The successful candidate will work closely with our Product Manager and Data Team to help build our mission critical data sets focusing on the harvesting, cleansing and enrichment of these datasets.  
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage processing of large amounts of data, both unstructured and structured
  • Develop solutions to harvest, cleanse and transform data from various sources
  • Develop and maintains program to gather data from various sources including websites to expand the scope of completeness of the company’s dataset
  • Profile and resolve data quality issues to ensure complete and rich datasets
  • Implement tools and new techniques to implement and optimized standardized processes for highest efficiency and accuracy in the processing of data
  • Collaborate with data team members to cleanse, transform and enrich the company's datasets, leveraging automation and new technologies and concepts when possible

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Experience designing and operating very large Data Warehouses
  • In-depth programming knowledge with Python and Java
  • Proficient with the AWS platform
  • Experience with Spark, Redshift
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Track record of delivering results in a collaborative and distributive team work environment
  • Strong communication skills, enabling transparency and coordination across multiple regional and service teams
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with ability to balance competing priorities
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business & Management or equivalent is preferred

Preferred Experience:
  • Experience with ETL tools such as Talend, Pentaho or Alteryx is a plus
  • Experience leveraging Python and R to manipulate data and implement automated processes
  • Experience with machine learning concepts and tools
  • Background in Big Data
